Currently a program of the SCIDpda has an opening for a Nutrition Services Assistant (20-25 hours/week) whose duties will be to promote a greater sense of well being for seniors through their participation in the Senior Services’ Legacy House Senior Congregate Meal Program. This individual will use development, recruitment and retention methods to maintain a program participation level that meets funding source requirements.
GENERAL NATURE & SCOPE: This position is to promote a greater sense of wellbeing for seniors through their participation in the Senior Services’ Legacy House Senior Congregate Meal Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Assist, as requested, with daily operational functions including daily reporting, invoicing, cash receipt collection
• Provide recommendations on program planning
• Assist with recruitment and retention methods to maintain required level of participation
• Assist in activity and special event programs
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen, and general areas
• Assist in serving meals
• Assist in Food Bank delivery and distribution
• Assist with space rental
• Additional duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Appreciation and interest in issues relating to elderly health and nutrition
• Team player and strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Ability to provide services in a multi-cultural setting
• Interest in providing service in an Asian Pacific Islander community
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Excellent verbal and writing skills
• Competent knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, E-mail and Internet
• Strong ability to take initiative and work independently
• Ability to work with diverse population and limited-English speaking clients
• Bilingual ability in Asian language preferred
• Must be able to follow directions
• Ability to adapt to changing needs and requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
• High school or GED preferred, additional education a plus
• Experience in health care or food and nutrition services preferred
• Demonstrated experience and interest in working with seniors
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
• Food handler’s permit
• CPR and First Aid

Dartmoor School (Seattle Campus) is looking for a 1-on-1 instructor for math and science. Science to include chemistry and biology through 12th grade.
